Chakib Benmoussa, Minister of National Education, Primary Education and Sports, met with representatives of associations of mothers, fathers and guardians of pupils and students to review the latest developments in the education system.
The meeting, part of the annual meeting of the joint standing committee between the ministry and these organizations, saw the minister share important information on the results of the certification exams and preparations for the next school entry, as well as details on the new version of the royal initiative “One Million Wallets”.

During the meeting held at the ministry’s headquarters, the minister emphasized that the aim of this decree is to alleviate the burdens of school entry, including the costs of books and school supplies, promote equal opportunities, encourage schooling and fight school wastage, and improve the targeting and assistance of families within an integrated framework of social support.
The new amounts to be granted to families are as follows:
200 dirhams for families with children enrolled in primary or secondary preparatory school.
300 dirhams for families with children enrolled in secondary education.
This decree will increase the amount allocated to cover the cost of the wallet, which previously ranged between 94 dirhams and 123 dirhams, and will expand the circle of benefit to include the secondary school level.
The disbursement of these grants will begin in the 2024/2025 school year, with the grants to be distributed once a year in September. The ministry also reiterated its call to mothers and fathers to register or re-register their children in public educational institutions before the end of each academic year.
In the same context, the minister announced that on July 18, 2024, the Council of Government also approved a draft decree defining the types and amounts of scholarships for boarding houses and school canteens, as part of the ministry’s efforts to review the mechanisms for targeting beneficiaries and strengthening the delegated management system at the level of regional academies of education and training.
