Following instructions from the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office, the national security services in Casablanca took action on the evening of Monday, April 14, to admit an individual to a psychiatric hospital after he posed a threat to public safety and endangered the wellbeing of individuals and property.
The suspect reportedly assaulted four pedestrians using a blunt object, causing injuries that required them to be transferred to the hospital for medical treatment. His actions also resulted in material damage to three private cars parked on a public street.
Thanks to the swift intervention of police officers, the suspect was quickly apprehended. Preliminary assessments indicated that he was in an abnormal mental state, displaying intense agitation. As a result, authorities decided to place him in a psychiatric facility.
The Public Prosecutor has ordered a thorough medical examination to determine the suspect’s mental and psychological condition.
