Under Royal Directives, Morocco and Qatar Strengthen Military Partnership During High-Level Visit by General Mohamed Berrid

Under the high directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, General Mohamed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Zone, conducted an official working visit to the State of Qatar from April 19 to 22, 2025.

According to a statement from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, General Berrid held a formal meeting on Sunday with his Qatari counterpart, Lieutenant General (Pilot) Jassim bin Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mannai, Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces. This was followed by a meeting with His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs.

During these high-level meetings, both sides explored ways to strengthen bilateral military cooperation in line with the royal directives of both heads of state, aiming to serve mutual interests and reflect the depth of brotherly and strategic relations between Rabat and Doha.

The statement highlighted that officials from both countries expressed satisfaction with the advanced level of military coordination and understanding, praising the tangible outcomes achieved through the ongoing partnership. The military cooperation was hailed as a successful model of strategic defense collaboration.

As part of his visit, General Berrid also toured several Qatari military units and commands, including the Joint Operations Command, the Amiri Signal Corps Command, and the Air Defense Forces Command, where he received detailed briefings on their missions and operational structures. These visits aimed to promote experience exchange and enhance operational and technical integration.

This visit comes within the framework of deepening bilateral ties and expanding the scope of the military partnership to cover a range of strategic areas. It reflects a mutual commitment to boosting the readiness of both countries’ armed forces and solidifying the trust and strategic alignment that defines Moroccan-Qatari relations.
