“Halima Is Back to Her Old Habits” – Absence of Ministers in Akhannouch’s Government Sparks Alert in the Legislative Institution (+Video)

The controversy has resurfaced during the first sessions of the spring legislative term over the absence of ministers from oral question sessions, drawing sharp criticism from opposition parties in the House of Representatives.

The Socialist Group – the opposition affiliated with the Socialist Union of Popular Forces – criticized the ministers’ absence, stressing that such behavior should not be repeated under the current circumstances. The group called for renewed commitment to the procedures that were implemented to regulate the attendance of parliamentarians, procedures that should also apply to the ministers. They emphasized that maintaining order and mutual respect between the two institutions is a fundamental priority that must not be neglected.

For his part, Abdellah Bouanou, head of the Justice and Development Party’s parliamentary group, stressed the need for continuous regulation of the relationship between the legislative and executive branches. Bouanou explained that the presence of some ministerial sectors in the session was illogical, as some were scheduled for upcoming sessions — a practice he deemed unacceptable from a parliamentary standpoint.
