The city of Taza, known for its ancient history and strategic location as a connecting point between eastern and western Morocco, is today witnessing a tangible transformation with the launch of an ambitious project to rehabilitate and expand the eastern entrance to the city. This project, which is part of broader efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance urban attractiveness, promises to achieve significant improvements in the quality of life for Taza residents and visitors.
The planned works include expanding the road to include three lanes in each direction, which will facilitate traffic and reduce congestion. Emphasis will also be placed on aesthetic and functional aspects through paving and landscaping, in addition to installing modern lighting poles that enhance nighttime safety. The thoughtful urban furnishing will add an aesthetic touch to the entrance, while the construction of large canals near the fish market will contribute to protecting the area from the threat of floods, which reflects the city’s commitment to sustainability and integrated urban planning.
With an estimated cost of 3 billion and 160 million centimes, and an implementation period extending over 12 months, this project is a major investment in the future of Taza. It represents an important step towards achieving a comprehensive vision for a more developed and attractive city, in line with global standards for urban development.
