Morocco is set to enter a comprehensive four-month electoral cycle in 2027, spanning from mid-June to early October, designed to renew public and private sector labor representation, professional chambers, communal and regional councils, provincial assemblies, and the upper house of Parliament (the House of Councillors).
According to the official 2027 Moroccan Electoral Schedule, six interconnected electoral milestones will take place sequentially between June 19 and October 7, 2027. Each stage directly shapes the electoral colleges that ultimately elect the members of the House of Councillors ahead of the constitutional opening of the autumn parliamentary session in October.
June – October 2027
How Morocco’s Six 2027 Elections Connect Institutionally
The electoral sequence opens on June 19, 2027 with the Public Sector Employees’ Representatives Elections, followed on July 15, 2027 by the Private Sector Employees’ Representatives Elections. Together, these two nationwide votes determine trade union representativeness for national social dialogue and form the electoral college responsible for electing labor representatives to the House of Councillors.
On August 5, 2027, voters across economic sectors will elect the members of Morocco’s Professional Chambers (Agriculture, Commerce, Industry and Services, Traditional Crafts, and Maritime Fisheries). The largest direct popular vote will then take place on September 7, 2027, when citizens head to the polls to elect Communal (Municipal) and Regional Councils across all twelve regions of the Kingdom.
Following the installation of municipal councils, indirect elections for Prefectural and Provincial Councils will be held on September 20, 2027. The entire electoral cycle culminates on October 7, 2027 with the House of Councillors Elections, renewing the upper chamber of the Moroccan Parliament just days before the constitutional opening of the legislative year on the second Friday of October.
