Taza – The condition of the area surrounding Al Amal Middle School, located in the commune of Kaaf El Ghar in Taza Province, has sparked concern among residents and local stakeholders, amid the continued presence of bare electrical wires hanging down and lying directly on the ground along the main access route to the educational institution.
Local stakeholders reported that this deteriorating infrastructure is located along the street and pathway used daily by dozens of students, teachers and administrative staff, creating what they described as a “ticking time bomb” and posing a direct threat to their lives and physical safety. Photographs taken at the site reportedly show the wires lying on the ground near public street-lighting poles.
Families and local stakeholders are increasingly concerned as winter approaches, bringing rain and high humidity that could increase the risk of electrical short circuits or electric shocks, potentially leading to tragic accidents. They also pointed out that this hazardous situation has persisted for a long time without any significant intervention to address it or eliminate the danger.
In light of the direct threat to the safety of students and other users of the area, local stakeholders have issued urgent calls to the provincial services of the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE), the local authorities in the commune of Kaaf El Ghar, and the provincial directorate of the Ministry of National Education in Taza. They are urging these bodies to promptly repair the electrical network, secure the dangling wires and eliminate the hazard.
