It was learned from local sources that, thanks to the coordination of the efforts of the security services in Sefrou, of the National Security, the Royal Gendarmerie, and the Information Services, as well as the local authority and its agents, the security services were able, on Sunday/Monday night, in the Manzil area, to arrest the suspect in the murder of the schoolgirl, Houria, in the Boudarham neighborhood in Sefrou last Friday.
According to data circulated digitally in the region, one of the authorities’ agents last night spotted the suspected suspect trying to hide, so he reported it to the Royal Gendarmerie, which mobilized its members and succeeded in arresting the suspect.
Yesterday, Friday, for unknown reasons, an unidentified person carried out a treacherous attack on a student and her friend in the Bouderham neighborhood of the city of Sefrou. She was studying in the common classroom at the Sidi Lahcen Al-Yousi rehabilitative secondary school in the city.
The stab wounds that the student received caused her severe injuries that hastened her death, leaving them covered in her blood. Before the suspect fled after committing the heinous crime.
This tragic incident mobilized the security authorities, including the police and gendarmerie, so they launched a large-scale campaign in the city of Sefrou and its surrounding areas, including the villages and forests, with the aim of arresting the suspect and bringing him to justice.
The head of the Regional Security District was seen personally participating in these efforts aimed at achieving justice and ensuring the safety of society, in addition to members of the Royal Gendarmerie and Intelligence combing several offices in the region, where the perpetrator may have sought refuge to hide.
As a result of this grave injury and heinous crime, the administration of Sidi Lahcen Youssi Rehabilitation Secondary School in Sefrou issued the following statement:
“Following the heinous attack that was suffered by the student, Houriya Tomlin, first in Experimental Sciences 3, on Friday, April 26, 2024, outside the institution, which led to her death, the administrative and educational frameworks and the students strongly denounce this attack.
On this painful occasion, Surat Al-Fatiha was read on the morning of Saturday, April 27, 2024, in the institution’s space, as a tribute to her pure soul.
Our sincere and warm condolences to her family members.
