Morocco.. RNI left out of El Mansouri’s government calculations? Information circulating within the PAM

Morocco – Unconfirmed information circulated on Saturday, October 3, 2026, regarding positions within the National Council of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) opposing the participation of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) in the next government, alongside calls for the PAM to be granted a number of key ministerial portfolios and sectors.

According to the information circulating, several interventions during the extraordinary session of the PAM’s National Council, held behind closed doors in Skhirat, were reportedly oriented toward rejecting the RNI’s entry into the next government majority, amid a debate over the nature of the alliances that will shape the new political phase.

According to these reports, the positions opposing the RNI’s participation are linked to their proponents’ assessment of the party’s presence in the previous government, and what they consider to be a potential impact of that presence on the image of the next government formation.

At the same time, other positions called for leaving the management of the alliances file and the decision on the composition of the government to the designated Head of Government, Fatima Zahra El Mansouri, and her team responsible for consultations, while stressing the need for the Authenticity and Modernity Party to obtain government representation reflecting its position following the latest legislative elections.

The circulating positions also included demands for the PAM to be granted key ministerial portfolios and sectors, particularly those directly linked to citizens’ concerns and the priorities of the next phase.

These developments come amid consultations to form the government led by Fatima Zahra El Mansouri, after the Authenticity and Modernity Party topped the results of the latest legislative elections, while several political parties have entered consultations over the formation of the next government majority.

On the other side, the National Rally of Independents officially announced its readiness to participate in the next government, before holding its extraordinary National Council meeting in Rabat on Saturday, where the party’s president, Mohamed Chouki, was mandated to manage the participation file in accordance with the national interest.

This position follows the announcement by the RNI’s Political Bureau of its readiness to participate in the government, with the decision referred to the party’s National Council for deliberation and a final decision, in accordance with the organizational procedures adopted within the party.

The information circulating regarding the positions of members of the PAM’s National Council remains non-final pending an official position from the party, particularly as the nature of the government alliances and the distribution of ministerial portfolios remain dependent on the political consultation process and the decisions to be taken by the authorized party institutions.

The outcomes of meetings of the National Councils of the parties concerned are expected in the coming hours to reveal the contours of the new government majority, pending the completion of consultations and the announcement of the final composition of the government that will lead the next political phase.

Maroc..
