Rabat – La Ligue nationale de football professionnel a confirmé le maintien du format à 16 équipes en première division et 16 équipes en deuxième division pour la saison sportive 2026-2027, mettant ainsi fin aux spéculations concernant une éventuelle augmentation du nombre de clubs de première division à 20.
La Ligue a annoncé que le tirage au sort du championnat professionnel « Inwi » pour la saison sportive 2026-2027 aura lieu le vendredi 28 août 2026, au Complexe sportif Mohammed VI de football à Maâmora.
La Ligue nationale a précisé que les compétitions de la nouvelle saison se dérouleront selon le format en vigueur, avec la participation de 16 équipes en Botola Pro D1 et 16 équipes en Botola Pro D2, conformément aux procédures et règlements en vigueur, tout en soulignant sa volonté de les appliquer avec la rigueur et la transparence requises.
La Ligue devrait annoncer, en temps voulu, les détails de la programmation des différentes compétitions, ainsi que les dispositions organisationnelles liées à la nouvelle saison sportive, par l’intermédiaire de ses canaux officiels.
Cette annonce met ainsi fin au débat concernant un éventuel passage du championnat professionnel à un format de 20 équipes, la Ligue confirmant le maintien du système actuel pour la saison 2026-2027.

Rabat – The National Professional Football League has confirmed that the format of 16 teams in the first division and 16 teams in the second division will be maintained for the 2026-2027 sporting season, putting an end to speculation about a possible increase in the number of first-division clubs to 20.
The League announced that the draw for the “Inwi” Professional Championship for the 2026-2027 sporting season will take place on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora.
The National Professional Football League stated that the new season’s competitions will be held under the existing format, with 16 teams in Botola Pro D1 and 16 teams in Botola Pro D2, in accordance with the procedures and regulations currently in force. It also emphasized its commitment to applying them with the required rigor and transparency.
The League is expected to announce, in due course, details of the scheduling of the various competitions, along with the organizational arrangements related to the new sporting season, through its official channels.
With this announcement, the League has settled the debate over the possibility of the professional championship moving to a 20-team format, confirming that the current system will remain in place for the 2026-2027 season.
