Informed sources revealed that the National Judicial Police continue their efforts to dismantle the extortion and defamation network led by Hicham Girando, a YouTuber residing in Canada, following the arrest of Shaima E., a Moroccan citizen living in Canada, immediately after her arrival at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca.
Shaima E. was the subject of a nationwide arrest warrant due to her involvement in collecting illicit sums of money within the extortion and defamation cases orchestrated by Hicham Girando’s criminal network, which targeted multiple victims.
Available information indicates that the suspect, who was referred immediately after her arrest to the National Judicial Police in Casablanca, was involved in receiving financial amounts in Canada as payment for the systematic extortion operations carried out by the network. Among these sums was an amount exceeding 6,400 Canadian dollars, which she received from a network member who had himself received the equivalent in Moroccan dirhams into his bank account from one of the victims.
Investigations also reveal that Hicham Girando instructed one of his intermediaries to collect money from one of the victims—a drug dealer’s wife—who succumbed to his blackmail via social media. The intermediary was then to transfer the equivalent amount in Canadian dollars to the suspect residing in Canada.
Sources suggest that the arrested woman used her employment at an immigration consultancy agency specializing in Canadian immigration files as a front to communicate with the intermediaries responsible for collecting money on behalf of Hicham Girando, either directly or through bank transfers in Morocco, where she would receive the funds and make them available to the ringleader.
The arrest of Shaima E. comes just days after the detention of other suspects linked to Hicham Girando’s criminal network, which specializes in defamation, insult, and cyber extortion. The ongoing investigations aim to fully dismantle the network and bring all involved individuals to justice.
