Royal Police Institute in Kenitra Hosts a Study Day on “Protecting Forest and Wildlife Resources: A Legal Responsibility and National Duty”

Kenitra – The Royal Police Institute in the city of Kenitra is hosting today, Monday, June 23, 2025, a study day titled “Protecting Forest and Wildlife Resources: A Legal Responsibility and National Duty,” organized by the General Directorate of National Security in partnership with the National Water and Forest Agency.

The program includes a series of presentations and interactive discussions delivered by a group of specialized experts. These sessions analyze the mechanisms of partnership and coordination among public institutions aimed at protecting natural habitats at the national level. Participants will also highlight the role of specialized training and the exchange of technical, scientific, and legal knowledge in combating crimes and negative behaviors threatening Morocco’s forest and wildlife resources.

The study day also features interventions on the role of the police and judiciary in preserving forest and wildlife areas, with particular emphasis on resolving forest-related disputes. Additional topics include the role of criminal investigation and international security cooperation mechanisms in protecting natural forest environments.

The event brings together officials from the National Security, the National Water and Forest Agency, judicial institutions, as well as representatives from academic and research institutions. It also includes security trainees from the Royal Police Institute and the National Forestry Engineering School.

This study day is part of the implementation of the institutional partnership program between the General Directorate of National Security and the National Water and Forest Agency. This partnership encompasses various areas of bilateral cooperation, with a primary focus on supporting and strengthening training strategies, exchanging expertise and competencies in all fields related to protecting natural forest areas and wildlife. The initiative aims to reinforce the rule of law, safeguard employee interests, and consolidate good governance principles within public services.
