Sala – Police officers from the Batana security district in the city of Sala arrested today, Sunday, June 22, 2025, a 31-year-old man with a lengthy criminal record of violent offenses, on suspicion of possessing a blade and threatening its use in circumstances that endangered public safety.
The arrest followed the National Security services’ monitoring of a video circulated on social media showing the suspect brandishing a blade and threatening people in a public street in one of Sala’s neighborhoods. Subsequent investigations identified and led to the suspect’s arrest this evening.
During the arrest, the suspect violently resisted, prompting a police officer to use a Taser electric shock weapon to subdue him, enabling his detention and the seizure of the blade.
The suspect is also subject to a nationwide search warrant related to a case of assault with a blade. He has been placed under police custody pending judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office to clarify all circumstances of the case and uncover the true motives behind these criminal acts.
