Intermediary Arrested in Tangier for Electronic Fraud in Driving License Exam

The judicial police in Tangier arrested on Monday an individual suspected of acting as an intermediary for candidates seeking to pass the driving license exam through fraudulent means.

The suspect was caught red-handed near a center affiliated with the Directorate of Public Works, located close to the police prefecture headquarters in downtown Tangier. He approached some candidates near the center, offering his services which ranged from promises of success to providing electronic cheating devices, in exchange for varying sums of money depending on the service.

According to preliminary investigation data, the suspect relied on a network of contacts to supply candidates with wireless earpieces intended for cheating during the theoretical exam. He exploited weaknesses in the surveillance system and the increased number of candidates, especially during the summer period.

Under the instructions of the competent public prosecutor, the suspect was placed in custody pending the ongoing judicial investigation, awaiting the conclusion of inquiries and his presentation before the court to face the charges against him.
