Rabat – In a new decision, the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (haca) has obligated the second television channel (2M) to broadcast the full Adhan (call to prayer) audibly at all prayer times, instead of merely displaying it in writing as was previously the practice.
Well-informed sources clarified that this decision was announced in an official correspondence issued by HACA on April 4, 2025. This measure comes within the framework of the Authority’s efforts to ensure the public channels’ commitment to the provisions of their specifications and to strengthen their role in serving the public, especially during important religious occasions such as the holy month of Ramadan.
This change marks a shift from the previous format, which relied solely on displaying the text of the Adhan on the screen, reflecting a new orientation towards highlighting the auditory and spiritual dimension of this religious ritual through television. This decision is expected to be welcomed by a wide segment of viewers.
