“Fes News” has learned from a reliable source within the company “VIAS” that four major companies have secured the massive contract to rehabilitate the streets of Fez as part of preparations to host some events of the 2030 World Cup.
According to the source, the winning companies were awarded four different lots. GTR (Grands Travaux Routiers) won the first lot with a contract worth over 111 million dirhams, while VIAS secured the second lot with a financial offer of 116 million dirhams.
The third lot was awarded to NGE CONTRACTING SA for nearly 104 million dirhams, whereas a consortium composed of BGI Construction and Société EUROLOGISTIQUE SARL won the fourth lot for 106 million dirhams.
The project includes extensive infrastructure development, such as road rehabilitation, installation of modern traffic signals, and improvements to traffic safety on the city’s main streets.
It is worth noting that these works are being carried out under direct instructions from the Wali of the Fez-Meknes region, aiming to present Fez in its best form to visitors and fans attending the 2030 World Cup events.
