Rabat – April 23, 2025 – The Moroccan national team faces the potential absence of its key players Achraf Hakimi and Brahim Diaz in the anticipated friendly match against the Tunisian national team, scheduled for next June as part of the “Atlas Lions'” preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
According to the website “winwin,” the national selection will be without the services of some key players during the upcoming preparation camp. Leading these players are international stars Achraf Hakimi and Brahim Diaz, who will be participating with their respective clubs in the FIFA Club World Cup to be held in the United States of America.
The website indicated that while some players will be completely absent from the friendly matches against Tunisia and Benin, other players also expected to participate in the “Mondialito” might only get limited playing minutes with the national team to avoid fatigue.
This decision comes in response to the clubs’ desire to preserve their players, alleviate physical strain on them, and reduce the risk of injuries, especially since the next two friendly matches for the Moroccan national team are only of a friendly nature.
