A businessman, kidnapped in a manner reminiscent of a Hollywood script last Sunday, on the first day of Ramadan in Tangier, was found on Wednesday in the Fahs Anjra region.
The businessman, well-known in Tangier, had disappeared under mysterious circumstances while he was in the basement of his residence located in the Najma neighborhood, in the heart of the Strait city. Four days after his abduction, he was found near Ksar Sghir, in the province of Fahs Anjra.
A judicial investigation, supervised by the King’s Prosecutor in Tangier, has been opened to determine the precise circumstances of the incident. According to initial findings, the kidnappers released the man in a forest near the Tanger Med port after sensing the noose tightening around them as the search intensified.
Although the businessman’s health condition is not considered alarming, signs of torture—particularly on his hands and legs, resulting from prolonged restraint and forced immobilization—were observed, according to a source close to the investigation.
Reinforcements from Rabat
Investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest all individuals involved in this case, which has captured the attention of local and national public opinion. Following a complaint filed by the investor’s family, Tangier police, assisted by agents from Rabat, are actively working to unravel this case.
Additionally, according to local press, the kidnapped man’s wife revealed that he had mentioned threats made against him, adding that, if anything were to happen, his kidnappers would be held responsible.
