Prince Moulay Rachid Presides Over a Royal Gala Dinner in Celebration of the Hassan II Golf Trophy and Lalla Meryem Cup

In a display of tradition and heritage, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid presided over a prestigious gala dinner on Friday, February 7, 2025. The event was hosted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the historic Chellah site in Rabat, in honor of the 49th edition of the Hassan II Golf Trophy and the 28th edition of the Lalla Meryem Cup.

This prominent sporting event, held under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, reinforces Morocco’s position as a global golfing destination. Taking place from February 3 to 8, it brings together an elite selection of world-class golfers in a competition that embodies the spirit of sportsmanship and Moroccan traditions.

Upon his arrival at the event, Prince Moulay Rachid, President of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association, reviewed a ceremonial guard of the Auxiliary Forces before being greeted by a number of distinguished personalities.

Among those welcoming him were Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports Mohamed Saad Barada, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy Fatima Zahra Ammor, and Minister Delegate for the Budget Fouzi Lekjaa. Also in attendance were the President of the Moroccan National Olympic Committee, Fayçal Laraichi, the Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, Mohamed Yacoubi, as well as several local officials, elected representatives, and members of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation.

The Hassan II Golf Trophy and the Lalla Meryem Cup are among the most prestigious sporting events that enhance Morocco’s international sports reputation. Every year, the tournament attracts professional golfers from around the world to compete on Morocco’s top-tier golf courses, known for their high-quality standards and unique designs.
