FesNews Media — Dakhla

In an official statement and press briefing shared with FesNews on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Halima Houdaibi, Media Relations Manager at Stratëus Group, announced that Marjane Group has officially inaugurated its 45th hypermarket in the city of Dakhla. The inauguration, coinciding with Morocco’s celebrations of Unity Day (Aïd Al Wahda), marks a major new milestone in the group’s territorial expansion across the Kingdom’s Southern Provinces, following the openings in Guelmim (2014) and Laâyoune (2024).

Backed by an overall investment of 260 million dirhams, the Dakhla project combines a 4,500 m² hypermarket with a future 12,000+ m² retail park overlooking the Dakhla lagoon, and is projected to generate more than 500 direct and indirect jobs while strengthening the local economic ecosystem.

Two-Phase Development: 180M DH Hypermarket and 80M DH Lagoon-View Retail Park

Commenting on the inauguration, Mhamed Chlyeh, Deputy Managing Director in charge of Marjane Hypermarkets, stated: “The opening of our hypermarket in Dakhla reflects Marjane Group’s ambition to accompany the strong momentum of the Southern Provinces and contribute tangibly to the city’s attractiveness. Beyond expanding our network, we aim to generate sustainable economic impact, promote local employment, and give residents access to a diverse, high-quality commercial offering at competitive prices.”

In its first phase, the 4,500 m² hypermarket represents an investment of 180 million dirhams and creates over 200 direct and indirect jobs, offering more than 30,000 permanent and seasonal product references alongside partnerships with regional fisheries operators, cooperatives, and local meat and dairy producers in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab. In its second phase, an additional 80 million dirham investment will deliver a 12,000+ m² retail park featuring national and international brands, restaurants, cafés overlooking the Dakhla lagoon, and leisure spaces, creating 300 additional jobs. In line with Marjane Group’s green transition (with 22 hypermarkets already solar-powered), the Dakhla store will be equipped with photovoltaic solar panels in 2027.
