Rabat – Les supporters sénégalais ayant bénéficié de la grâce royale accordée par le roi Mohammed VI sont rentrés dans leur pays après avoir été condamnés à la suite d’incidents liés à la finale de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations 2025 organisée au Maroc.
La Fédération sénégalaise de football a confirmé, dans un communiqué officiel, l’arrivée des supporters sénégalais à l’aéroport international Blaise Diagne dans la nuit de samedi à dimanche, exprimant sa satisfaction quant à cette « issue heureuse » rendue possible grâce à la grâce royale accordée dans l’esprit des valeurs de fraternité et de solidarité unissant les peuples marocain et sénégalais.
La Fédération sénégalaise de football a également remercié les autorités marocaines et sénégalaises ainsi que toutes les parties ayant contribué à faciliter la libération des supporters et leur retour au pays.
Le président sénégalais Bassirou Diomaye Faye avait auparavant salué la décision du roi Mohammed VI, estimant que cette initiative reflète un esprit de tolérance et d’humanité, tout en confirmant la profondeur des relations historiques entre Rabat et Dakar.
De son côté, le président de la Confédération Africaine de Football, Patrice Motsepe, a exprimé sa gratitude envers le roi Mohammed VI, considérant que cette grâce royale représente un modèle illustrant la capacité du football à unir les peuples et à renforcer les liens humains sur le continent africain.
Patrice Motsepe a souligné que les relations historiques solides entre le Maroc et le Sénégal constituent un exemple de coopération et de rapprochement entre les peuples africains.
Un communiqué du Cabinet Royal avait annoncé, à l’occasion de l’Aïd Al-Adha, que le roi Mohammed VI avait accordé sa grâce royale aux supporters sénégalais condamnés pour des infractions liées aux compétitions de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations organisées au Maroc entre le 21 décembre 2025 et le 18 janvier 2026, pour des raisons humanitaires.

Rabat – Senegalese supporters who benefited from the royal pardon granted by King Mohammed VI have returned to their country after previously being convicted over incidents linked to the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Morocco.
The Senegalese Football Federation confirmed in an official statement that the supporters arrived at Blaise Diagne International Airport during the night between Saturday and Sunday, expressing satisfaction over this “happy ending” made possible thanks to the royal pardon issued in the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity uniting the Moroccan and Senegalese peoples.
The Senegalese Football Federation also thanked the Moroccan and Senegalese authorities, along with all parties involved in facilitating the supporters’ release and return home.
Earlier, Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye praised King Mohammed VI’s decision, stating that the initiative reflects a spirit of tolerance and humanity while confirming the deep historical ties between Rabat and Dakar.
For his part, the president of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe, expressed his gratitude to King Mohammed VI, describing the royal pardon as a model demonstrating football’s ability to unite peoples and strengthen human ties across the African continent.

A statement from the Royal Cabinet had announced, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, that King Mohammed VI granted a royal pardon to Senegalese supporters convicted over offenses related to the Africa Cup of Nations tournament hosted by Morocco between December 21, 2025, and January 18, 2026, for humanitarian reasons.
