Recent reports have revealed that Lithuania has taken a leading position among European Union countries in streamlining Schengen visa procedures, with an acceptance rate exceeding 98% of submitted applications.
Official data shows that visa application processing times in Lithuania range from just 10 to 15 days, among the fastest rates in the European Union. Lithuanian authorities require applicants to submit essential documents including a valid passport, a completed application form, personal photos, as well as proof of accommodation and financial resources.
Analysts believe that Lithuania’s flexible visa policy is part of a national strategy to boost the tourism sector and attract investors and skilled professionals. The country is characterized by a lower cost of living compared to other EU countries, making it an attractive destination for visitors.
The visa fee is 80 euros for adults, with discounts available for certain categories. Applicants are also required to provide health insurance with coverage of at least 30,000 euros.
Experts advise those applying for a Lithuanian visa to submit their applications at least one month before their planned travel date, ensuring careful completion of all requirements. The Lithuanian visa allows holders to travel throughout all Schengen area countries during its validity period.
These factors confirm Lithuania’s position as an ideal gateway to the European Union, especially for those interested in tourism, study, or work in the European region.
