A wedding celebration in a neighborhood of Taounate, Morocco, turned into a horrific tragedy when a 20-year-old man fatally attacked his friend during a violent altercation.
Local sources reported that the incident occurred yesterday evening during a wedding attended by both young men. According to eyewitnesses, a disagreement between the friends escalated into a violent fight that ended with the accused stabbing the victim in the neck with a sharp object.
After committing the crime, the perpetrator fled towards the neighboring town of Bouchabl. However, judicial police elements from the Ba Mohammed police station managed to apprehend him there and placed him under custody for investigation.
The victim, critically injured in the neck, was rushed to the University Hospital in Fez due to the severity of his injury. Despite medical efforts to save his life, he succumbed to his wounds.
Relevant authorities have opened a comprehensive investigation to determine the circumstances and motives behind this crime, which has caused deep sadness and shock among the wedding guests and local residents.
It is worth noting that this tragic incident comes just days after another murder that shook the city of Fez, where a husband killed his wife by stabbing her with a knife in their home after she had requested a divorce due to domestic violence.
