On the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha for the year 1445 Hijri (2024 AD), His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God preserve him and grant him victory, has graciously pardoned a group of individuals, including those in detention and those out on bail, who have been sentenced by various courts of the Kingdom, totaling 1484 persons.
The following is the text of the statement issued by the Ministry of Justice in this regard:
“On the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha for the year 1445 Hijri (2024 AD), His Majesty the King, may God preserve him and grant him victory, has issued his royal pardon on a group of individuals, including those in detention and those out on bail, who have been sentenced by various courts of the Kingdom, totaling 1484 persons, as follows:
The beneficiaries of the royal pardon who are in detention are 1209 inmates, as follows:
- Pardon from the remaining period of imprisonment for the benefit of: 114 inmates.
- Reduction of the period of imprisonment for the benefit of: 1094 inmates.
- Conversion of life imprisonment to fixed-term imprisonment for the benefit of one inmate.
The beneficiaries of the royal pardon who are out on bail are 275 persons, distributed as follows:
- Pardon from the imprisonment penalty or the remaining portion thereof for the benefit of: 69 persons.
- Pardon from the imprisonment penalty while retaining the fine for the benefit of: 6 persons.
- Pardon from the fine for the benefit of: 189 persons.
- Pardon from both imprisonment and fine penalties for the benefit of: 9 persons.
- Pardon from the fine and the remaining imprisonment penalty for the benefit of two persons.
May God keep His Majesty the Victorious as a fortress and refuge for this nation, a source of compassion and mercy. He has returned such occasions to His Majesty with victory and empowerment, and His Majesty has approved His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Hassan, and all members of the Royal Family.
