The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration announced today, Friday, that prisoners will be allowed to receive rations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, from their relatives who are allowed to visit them, as well as diplomatic and consular representation agents for foreign prisoners.
According to a statement from the delegation, prisoners will be allowed to receive rations starting from the second day of Eid once for a week, according to a timetable specified by the prison administrations.
This decision comes out of the delegation’s keenness to strengthen the family ties of the prisoners and to share the joy of Eid with their families, in line with authentic Moroccan traditions, and in accordance with the decision aimed at excluding religious holidays from the final ban on food rations.
To ensure that this process takes place in the best conditions, prison institutions will work to provide the necessary facilities for detainees to contact their families in order to inform them of the specific dates for bringing the food parcel, and the conditions required for its entry.
On the other hand, the delegation warned the families of prisoners against exploiting this process to leak anything that would threaten the security and safety of prison institutions.
