The International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM) returns from April 22 to 28 in Meknes. Here’s what you need to know about this edition.
Under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, SIAM 2024 will focus this year on the challenges of climate change, the press release indicates. It will also highlight the vital importance of developing sustainable and resilient agricultural systems, in a situation marked by water stress and rainfall deficit.
12 hectares, 70 delegations
With more than 70 participating countries, including Spain as guest of honor, SIAM will extend over more than 12 hectares in Meknes. It will also constitute a platform for exchanges and sharing of experiences between experts and professionals.
Discussions will focus on key topics such as adaptation to climate change, the role of innovation and agricultural technologies, and the sustainability of agricultural systems.
SIAM will highlight the diversity of Moroccan local products and local crafts, offering cooperatives and associations an opportunity for economic development and promotion on a national and international scale.
A catalyst for economic development
Beyond its agricultural aspect, SIAM acts as a catalyst for economic development by strengthening the reputation of participating establishments and stimulating presence on the global market.
This year, SIAM is introducing the “Agri-digital” pole, highlighting revolutionary digital technologies in the agricultural field. This space will be dedicated to the latest digital advances and innovative solutions.
The scientific program includes conferences led by renowned national and international experts. In addition, the Grand National Prize for the Agricultural and Rural Press will be awarded during the show to reward journalistic excellence in the agricultural field.
SIAM 2024 thus promises to offer a rich and unique experience to professionals and the general public, contributing at the same time to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector in Morocco.
