Meknès – La ville de Meknès s’apprête à accueillir la troisième édition du Festival national des Hmadcha, du 28 au 30 août 2026, organisée par l’Association Sidi Ali pour l’autonomisation et l’éducation, en coordination avec la Zaouïa Hamdaouia, à l’occasion du Moussem de Sidi Ali Ben Hamdouch.
Cette édition est placée sous le thème « Les Hmadcha : une mémoire vivante et un patrimoine spirituel renouvelé », avec la participation de groupes et de confréries Hmadcha venus de Meknès, Fès, Asilah, Kelaat Sraghna et Taroudant, ainsi que de plusieurs moqaddems issus des différentes zaouïas Hamdaouia du Royaume.
La programmation prévoit également la participation de groupes d’Aïssawa, de madih et de chants spirituels, ainsi que d’une troupe d’art d’Ahidous, dans le cadre d’un rendez-vous destiné à mettre en valeur la diversité du patrimoine spirituel et artistique associé aux Hmadcha.
Le programme officiel comprend des soirées soufies au mausolée de Sidi Ali Ben Hamdouch, avec des récitations du Saint Coran, des madihs et des chants spirituels, ainsi qu’un concours local de mémorisation du Coran et une conférence consacrée au thème « La confrérie Hamdaouia entre hier et aujourd’hui ».
Cette édition sera également marquée par un hommage posthume à feu Haj Mohamed Ben Dahmane El Barachdi, en reconnaissance de son rôle dans la transmission et la préservation du patrimoine Hmadcha et dans la sauvegarde de ce legs culturel.
L’organisation du festival s’inscrit dans les efforts visant à renforcer la place des Hmadcha dans le paysage culturel marocain et à encourager les jeunes générations à découvrir ce patrimoine, à contribuer à sa préservation et à son renouvellement, en tant que composante de la mémoire culturelle et spirituelle du Maroc.
L’édition de cette année mise ainsi sur la conjugaison des dimensions spirituelle, artistique et culturelle, à travers un programme réunissant spectacles soufis, activités religieuses et rencontres intellectuelles, offrant aux visiteurs et aux passionnés l’occasion de découvrir plusieurs aspects du patrimoine Hmadcha à Meknès.
Meknes.. Hmadcha Festival Returns for Its Third Edition with a Diverse Sufi and Cultural Program August 27, 2026 – Meknes
Meknes – The city of Meknes is preparing to host the third edition of the National Hmadcha Festival from August 28 to 30, 2026. The event is organized by the Sidi Ali Association for Empowerment and Education, in coordination with the Hamdaouia Zawiya, alongside the Moussem of Sidi Ali Ben Hamdouch.
This year’s edition is being held under the theme “The Hmadcha: A Living Memory and a Renewed Spiritual Heritage,” with the participation of Hmadcha groups and brotherhoods from Meknes, Fez, Asilah, Kelaat Sraghna and Taroudant, as well as moqaddems representing various Hamdaouia zawiyas across the Kingdom.
The program will also feature Aissawa groups, madih and spiritual chanting performances, as well as an Ahidous troupe, in a cultural event highlighting the diversity of the spiritual and artistic heritage associated with the Hmadcha tradition.
The official program includes Sufi evenings at the mausoleum of Sidi Ali Ben Hamdouch, featuring Quranic recitations, madih and spiritual chants, in addition to a local Quran memorization competition and a conference addressing the theme “The Hamdaouia Brotherhood Between Yesterday and Today.”
The third edition will also pay tribute to the late Haj Mohamed Ben Dahmane El Barachdi, in recognition of his role in transmitting and preserving the Hmadcha heritage and contributing to the safeguarding of this cultural legacy.
The organization of the festival forms part of efforts to strengthen the presence of the Hmadcha tradition within Morocco’s cultural landscape and encourage younger generations to discover, preserve and renew this heritage as an integral part of the country’s cultural and spiritual memory.
This year’s edition seeks to bring together the spiritual, artistic and cultural dimensions through a program combining Sufi performances, religious activities and intellectual discussions, offering visitors and enthusiasts an opportunity to discover aspects of the Hmadcha heritage in the city of Meknes.
