Rabat – La coopération judiciaire entre le Maroc et la Jordanie s’est renforcée avec la signature, vendredi à Rabat, d’un nouvel accord relatif à l’extradition des personnes recherchées. L’accord a été signé par le ministre marocain de la Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, et son homologue jordanien, Bassam Samir Al-Talhouni, dans le but de développer le cadre juridique et institutionnel de la coopération entre les deux pays et de renforcer la coordination entre les autorités compétentes.

La signature de l’accord est intervenue à l’issue d’entretiens entre les deux ministres, consacrés aux moyens de renforcer la coopération judiciaire maroco-jordanienne, ainsi qu’à l’échange d’expertises et d’expériences dans différents domaines liés au système judiciaire.

Abdellatif Ouahbi a souligné que cet accord constitue une étape importante dans le développement de la coopération judiciaire entre le Maroc et la Jordanie et traduit une volonté commune de renforcer les cadres juridiques et institutionnels régissant cette coopération.

Le ministre marocain de la Justice a précisé que l’accord permettra de renforcer la coordination entre les autorités compétentes des deux pays et de faciliter la coopération dans les affaires nécessitant une étroite collaboration judiciaire, contribuant ainsi à améliorer l’efficacité de la justice et à renforcer la confiance mutuelle entre les institutions judiciaires des deux pays.

De son côté, le ministre jordanien de la Justice a mis en avant l’importance de cet accord dans la consolidation de la coopération judiciaire et juridique entre le Maroc et la Jordanie, affirmant la volonté des deux pays d’élargir les domaines de coopération bilatérale et de rendre ses mécanismes plus efficaces.

L’accord établit un cadre juridique pour la coopération en matière d’extradition des personnes recherchées et prévoit des mécanismes clairs pour le traitement des demandes d’extradition, conformément aux législations nationales et aux obligations juridiques en vigueur dans chacun des deux pays.

La partie jordanienne a également souligné l’importance de poursuivre le développement des mécanismes de coopération et l’échange d’expertises et d’expériences dans les domaines d’intérêt commun, précisant que ce nouvel accord vient compléter deux accords précédemment conclus entre les deux pays en Jordanie.

Cet accord s’inscrit également dans le renforcement de la coopération en matière de lutte contre la criminalité et de consolidation de l’État de droit, à travers la mise en place d’un cadre institutionnel favorisant la coordination judiciaire entre les autorités marocaines et jordaniennes.

Morocco-Jordan Judicial Cooperation: Agreement Signed in Rabat on Extradition of Wanted Persons

Rabat – Judicial cooperation between Morocco and Jordan has been strengthened with the signing of a new agreement on the extradition of wanted persons on Friday in Rabat. The agreement was signed by Moroccan Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi and his Jordanian counterpart Bassam Samir Al-Talhouni, with the aim of developing the legal and institutional framework for cooperation between the two countries and strengthening coordination between the competent authorities.

The agreement was signed following talks between the two ministers on ways to advance Morocco-Jordan judicial cooperation, as well as to promote the exchange of expertise and experience in various areas related to the judicial system.

Abdellatif Ouahbi stressed that the agreement represents an important step in developing judicial cooperation between Morocco and Jordan and reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the legal and institutional frameworks governing this cooperation.

The Moroccan Minister of Justice explained that the agreement will strengthen coordination between the competent authorities of the two countries and facilitate cooperation in cases requiring close judicial collaboration, thereby contributing to greater efficiency in the administration of justice and strengthening mutual trust between the judicial institutions of both countries.

For his part, the Jordanian Minister of Justice highlighted the importance of the agreement in consolidating judicial and legal cooperation between Morocco and Jordan, reaffirming the two countries’ desire to expand areas of bilateral cooperation and make its mechanisms more effective.

The agreement establishes a legal framework for cooperation in the extradition of wanted persons and sets out clear mechanisms for handling extradition requests, in accordance with the national legislation and legal obligations applicable in each country.

The Jordanian side also stressed the importance of continuing to develop cooperation mechanisms and exchanging expertise and experience in areas of common interest, noting that the new agreement complements two agreements previously concluded between the two countries in Jordan.

The agreement also contributes to strengthening cooperation in combating crime and upholding the rule of law by providing an institutional framework for judicial coordination between Moroccan and Jordanian authorities.
