Morocco – Security infrastructure in Al Hoceïma was strengthened on Wednesday morning with the inauguration of a new regional police security complex, marking the 27th anniversary of Throne Day. The project is part of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) strategy to modernize police facilities and enhance the quality of security and administrative services.
An official delegation comprising senior police and military officials, along with representatives of the local authorities, presided over the inauguration ceremony before touring the new facility, which has been built according to modern architectural and technical standards designed to meet the requirements of contemporary policing.
The new security complex covers an area of approximately 8,000 square meters and features an architectural design that blends the distinctive urban character of northern Morocco with the safety and security standards applied to police facilities. It also includes dedicated reception and guidance areas aimed at improving service quality and bringing public services closer to citizens.
The complex houses several specialized police units, including the Documentation and Identity Documents Service, the Duty Office, a Police District, the Traffic Accident Unit, and the Mobile Public Order Unit, in addition to modern workspaces equipped with advanced technological resources.
The facility has also been equipped with a 24-hour digital video surveillance system, as well as a fully integrated medical unit fitted with first-aid and emergency response equipment, helping to improve working conditions and enhance operational responsiveness.
According to the DGSN, the inauguration of the new security complex forms part of its ongoing program to modernize police infrastructure and strengthen its logistical and human resources, in line with its strategy to improve public security services and reinforce the concept of community policing by delivering higher-quality services to both Moroccan citizens and foreign residents while providing modern workspaces for police personnel.
