Morocco – Peru’s newly inaugurated President, Keiko Fujimori, received Rachid Talbi Alami, Speaker of Morocco’s House of Representatives, in Lima on Tuesday. Representing His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the presidential inauguration ceremony, Talbi Alami reaffirmed the strength of bilateral ties and the shared commitment to expanding cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Talbi Alami delivered a congratulatory message from His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the President of Peru on the occasion of the country’s National Day. In his message, the King extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Peruvian people for continued progress and prosperity.
The Moroccan Sovereign expressed his pride in the longstanding friendship and mutual respect between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Peru, reaffirming his determination to work closely with the Peruvian President to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across areas of common interest for the benefit of both friendly nations.

The meeting was also attended by Peruvian Foreign Minister Carlos España and Morocco’s Ambassador to Peru, Amine Chaoudri.
During the talks, Talbi Alami thanked Peru for its support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its southern provinces, as well as for its backing of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797, which considers Morocco’s Autonomy Initiative a serious and credible basis for reaching a lasting solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to elevating relations with Peru through stronger political, economic, and parliamentary cooperation, while enhancing ties between the legislative institutions of both countries.
The meeting reflects Morocco’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to expand its international partnerships and strengthen support for its positions in regional and international forums.
