Rabat – Bank Al-Maghrib announced on Wednesday the issuance of a new 250-dirham silver commemorative coin to celebrate the 27th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne of the Kingdom of Morocco.
According to the central bank, the obverse of the coin features the portrait of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, surrounded by the inscriptions “Mohammed VI” and “Kingdom of Morocco” in both Arabic and Tifinagh, along with the dates 2026–1448.
The reverse displays an artistic design depicting fireworks in the shape of stars, alongside the Coat of Arms of the Kingdom, the face value of 250 dirhams, the number 27 symbolizing the 27th Throne Day anniversary, and a commemorative inscription in Arabic and French.
Bank Al-Maghrib stated that the coin is struck in 925‰ silver with 75‰ copper, weighs 28.28 grams, has a diameter of 38.61 millimeters, features a reeded edge, and is finished in Proof quality, reserved for high-end commemorative editions.
This release forms part of Bank Al-Maghrib’s annual series of commemorative coins issued to celebrate significant national occasions.

Rabat – Bank Al-Maghrib announced on Wednesday the release of a new 250-dirham silver commemorative coin to commemorate the 27th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne of the Kingdom of Morocco.
According to the central bank, the obverse of the coin features the portrait of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, surrounded by the inscriptions “Mohammed VI” and “Kingdom of Morocco” in Arabic and Tifinagh, together with the dates 2026–1448.
The reverse bears an artistic design representing star-shaped fireworks, the Coat of Arms of the Kingdom, the face value of 250 dirhams, the number 27 marking the 27th Throne Day anniversary, and a commemorative inscription in Arabic and French.
Bank Al-Maghrib added that the coin is minted from 925‰ silver alloyed with 75‰ copper, weighs 28.28 grams, measures 38.61 millimeters in diameter, features a reeded edge, and has a Proof finish, a premium quality reserved for commemorative collector coins.
The commemorative coin is part of Bank Al-Maghrib’s annual series of special issues honoring major national events.
