Rabat – Le secrétaire général du Parti du Progrès et du Socialisme (PPS) et ancien ministre de la Communication, Nabil Benabdallah, a répondu aux accusations formulées à son encontre par le journaliste Ali Lmrabet, rejetant ce qu’il qualifie d’« allégations mensongères ». Il affirme que son intervention personnelle, lorsqu’il occupait des fonctions gouvernementales, avait permis à Lmrabet de quitter le territoire marocain après un incident survenu à l’aéroport de Rabat.
Dans une déclaration vidéo, Benabdallah a expliqué que le différend porte sur un épisode qu’il considère comme établi. Selon lui, Ali Lmrabet l’avait contacté depuis l’aéroport de Rabat après avoir été empêché, d’après sa version, de quitter le Maroc. Il lui aurait alors demandé d’attendre le temps d’effectuer les démarches nécessaires avant de le recontacter.
L’ancien ministre a ajouté que la question essentielle est la suivante : « Avez-vous finalement quitté le Maroc ce jour-là après mon intervention ou non ? », estimant que le départ de Lmrabet après cette intervention confirme, selon lui, sa version des faits.
Benabdallah considère désormais que le différend dépasse les circonstances de cet ancien incident et concerne avant tout la crédibilité, accusant le journaliste de nier des faits dont il aurait bénéficié. Il affirme également qu’Ali Lmrabet le critique de manière continue depuis plus de vingt-cinq ans.
L’ancien ministre a en outre estimé que les positions du journaliste à l’égard de l’État marocain seraient motivées, selon lui, par des considérations personnelles, tout en rappelant qu’il avait lui-même défendu la liberté de la presse lorsqu’il exerçait des responsabilités gouvernementales.
Au moment de la publication, Ali Lmrabet n’avait pas réagi publiquement à ces nouvelles déclarations. Son droit de réponse demeure garanti conformément aux règles professionnelles du journalisme.

Rabat – Nabil Benabdallah, Secretary-General of the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS) and former Minister of Communication, has responded to accusations made by journalist Ali Lmrabet, dismissing them as what he described as “false allegations.” He said that his personal intervention while serving in government enabled Lmrabet to leave Morocco following an incident at Rabat Airport.
Speaking in a recorded video statement, Benabdallah said the dispute centers on what he considers a documented incident. According to his account, Lmrabet contacted him from Rabat Airport after allegedly being prevented from leaving the country. Benabdallah said he asked him to wait while he made the necessary contacts before calling him back.
He argued that the key question is: “Did you leave Morocco that day after my intervention or not?” According to Benabdallah, Lmrabet’s departure following that intervention supports his version of events.
The former minister said the disagreement is no longer about the details of an old incident but rather about credibility, accusing Lmrabet of denying events from which he had previously benefited. He also claimed that the journalist has been criticizing and attacking him for more than 25 years.
Benabdallah further argued that, in his view, Lmrabet does not advocate a genuine democratic or reformist project and that his positions toward the Moroccan state are driven by personal motives. He also recalled that, during his time in government, he defended press freedom and opposed practices he believed restricted freedom of expression.
As of the time of publication, Ali Lmrabet had not issued any new response to Benabdallah’s latest remarks. His right of reply remains fully protected under professional journalistic standards.
