Maroc – La chambre correctionnelle du tribunal de première instance de Benslimane a rendu, ce lundi 15 juin 2026, des peines de prison ferme à l’encontre de trois accusés dans une affaire ayant suscité une large indignation après la diffusion d’une vidéo montrant un enfant mineur soumis à des actes qualifiés d’abusifs lors d’une cérémonie privée.
Selon les informations disponibles, le tribunal a condamné le principal accusé à quatre ans de prison ferme, tandis que le deuxième prévenu a écopé de trois ans et demi de réclusion, et le troisième de deux ans et demi, en fonction du degré de responsabilité établi au cours des audiences.
Les faits remontent à la fin du mois de mai dernier, lorsqu’une vidéo largement partagée sur les réseaux sociaux montrait un enfant âgé de six ans victime de comportements ayant choqué l’opinion publique. Le parquet compétent avait alors ouvert une enquête judiciaire en urgence afin de déterminer les circonstances de l’incident.
Les investigations menées par les services de la gendarmerie royale ont permis d’identifier les suspects et de procéder à leur arrestation, avant leur déferrement devant la justice.
Le tribunal a également accordé une indemnisation symbolique à une association de protection de l’enfance, constituée partie civile dans cette affaire.
Cette affaire a suscité de nombreuses réactions de la part d’organisations de défense des droits de l’enfant et d’acteurs associatifs, qui ont renouvelé leur appel au renforcement des mécanismes de protection des mineurs contre toute forme d’exploitation ou d’atteinte à leur dignité, ainsi qu’à un accompagnement psychologique et social des enfants victimes.

Morocco – The correctional chamber of the Court of First Instance of Benslimane issued prison sentences on Monday, June 15, 2026, against three defendants in a case that sparked widespread outrage after a video circulated showing a minor subjected to abusive acts during a private event.
According to available information, the court sentenced the main defendant to four years in prison, while the second defendant received three and a half years, and the third two and a half years, depending on the level of responsibility established during the hearings.
The incident dates back to the end of last May, when a widely shared video on social media showed a six-year-old child exposed to behavior that shocked public opinion. The competent prosecutor’s office subsequently opened an urgent judicial investigation to determine the circumstances of the case.
Investigations conducted by the Royal Gendarmerie led to the identification and arrest of the suspects, who were later referred to the judiciary.
The court also awarded symbolic compensation to a child protection association that joined the case as a civil party.
The case has prompted strong reactions from child rights organizations and civil society actors, who have renewed calls to strengthen mechanisms protecting minors from all forms of exploitation or violations of dignity, as well as the need for psychological and social support for child victims.
