Rabat – La sélection marocaine a signé une victoire rassurante face à l’équipe de Madagascar sur le score de 3 buts à 0, mardi soir au Stade Prince Moulay Abdellah. Il s’agissait du dernier match de préparation disputé sur le sol marocain avant le départ de l’équipe nationale vers les États-Unis pour participer à la Coupe du Monde 2026.
Les Lions de l’Atlas ont rapidement pris le contrôle de la rencontre malgré l’absence de plusieurs cadres laissés au repos par le staff technique, notamment Achraf Hakimi, Nayef Aguerd et Yassine Bounou. Dès la quatrième minute, Ismael Saibari a ouvert le score de la tête sur un corner exécuté par Bilal El Khannouss.
Le Maroc a poursuivi sa domination et Ismael Saibari a inscrit un deuxième but à la 25e minute en profitant d’une erreur défensive adverse, confirmant sa grande activité durant la première période. Peu avant la pause, Noussair Mazraoui a failli inscrire un troisième but, mais sa tentative a été repoussée par la barre transversale.
Au retour des vestiaires, le sélectionneur national a procédé à plusieurs changements afin d’évaluer l’état de forme physique et technique d’un plus grand nombre de joueurs avant le début de la compétition mondiale. Malgré ces rotations, le Maroc a conservé la maîtrise du jeu.
Dans les dernières minutes de la rencontre, Ayoub El Kaabi a inscrit le troisième but à la 87e minute, offrant à la sélection nationale une victoire nette qui confirme la bonne dynamique du groupe avant le Mondial.
La délégation marocaine devrait s’envoler vers les États-Unis dès mercredi afin d’entamer la dernière phase de préparation. Les Lions de l’Atlas débuteront ensuite leur parcours dans le groupe C par une affiche de prestige face à la Brésil le 14 juin à New York.
Rabat – The Moroccan national team secured an encouraging 3–0 victory over Madagascar on Tuesday evening at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in what was their final warm-up match on Moroccan soil before departing for the United States to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Atlas Lions started strongly despite the absence of several key players who were rested by the coaching staff, including Achraf Hakimi, Nayef Aguerd, and Yassine Bounou. Just four minutes into the match, Ismael Saibari opened the scoring with a header from a corner delivered by Bilal El Khannouss.
Morocco continued to apply pressure throughout the first half, and Saibari doubled the lead in the 25th minute after capitalizing on a defensive error. His performance was one of the standout displays of the opening period. Shortly before halftime, Noussair Mazraoui came close to adding a third goal, but his effort struck the crossbar.
At the start of the second half, the national team coach introduced several substitutions to give more players an opportunity to demonstrate their physical and technical readiness ahead of the global tournament. Morocco nevertheless maintained control of the match.
The third goal arrived in the 87th minute through Ayoub El Kaabi, sealing a comfortable victory and providing further evidence of the squad’s preparedness before the World Cup.
The Moroccan delegation is expected to travel to the United States on Wednesday to begin the final stage of preparations. The Atlas Lions will then open their Group C campaign with a highly anticipated match against Brazil on June 14 in New York.
