On Sunday, April 19, 2026, the Provincial Judicial Police Department in Casablanca opened a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine the circumstances surrounding the involvement of a female citizen from a sub-Saharan African country in a case related to international drug trafficking.
According to available information, customs screening procedures at Mohammed V International Airport led to the suspect’s arrest immediately upon her arrival on a flight from Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone.
The search revealed that she was in possession, among her personal belongings, of two packages of cocaine weighing a total of 7 kilograms and 330 grams.
The suspect was handed over to judicial police officers and placed in pretrial detention pending the judicial investigation, which is being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to uncover all possible ramifications of this criminal activity, both nationally and internationally, and to identify the other alleged accomplices.
This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by security services to combat international drug trafficking networks and strengthen surveillance of the Kingdom’s border crossings.
