Morocco – The General Directorate of National Security announced this Saturday, February 21, 2026, the death of four of its officers in a preliminary toll following a traffic accident involving a bus transporting members of the Mobile Intervention Unit in the city of Sidi Ifni. The officers were en route on an official mission to Agadir to secure a football competition.
Maroc – La Direction Générale de la Sûreté Nationale a annoncé, ce samedi 21 février 2026, le décès de quatre de ses fonctionnaires dans un bilan provisoire, à la suite d’un accident de la circulation impliquant un bus transportant des éléments de la Compagnie Mobile de Maintien de l’Ordre à Sidi Ifni. Les agents se dirigeaient vers Agadir dans le cadre d’une mission officielle visant à sécuriser une compétition de football.
According to the official statement, the bus, carrying 44 officers, was involved in a self-inflicted traffic accident about 24 kilometers from the city of Sidi Ifni on Saturday morning. The incident resulted in four deaths in a preliminary count, in addition to 26 injuries, including two officers reported to be in critical condition.
Selon le communiqué officiel, le bus, qui transportait 44 fonctionnaires, a été victime d’un accident de la circulation autonome à environ 24 kilomètres de la ville de Sidi Ifni, ce samedi matin. L’accident a fait, selon un bilan provisoire, quatre morts et 26 blessés, dont deux agents dans un état jugé grave.
The same source confirmed that the Director General of National Security has instructed the Agadir Police Prefecture, as well as the Directorate’s medical and social services, to closely monitor the health condition of the injured officers in hospital and to provide them with all necessary support and assistance.
La même source a précisé que le Directeur Général de la Sûreté Nationale a donné ses instructions à la Préfecture de Police d’Agadir ainsi qu’aux services médicaux et sociaux de la Direction, afin d’assurer le suivi de l’état de santé des blessés à l’hôpital et de leur fournir toutes les formes de soutien et d’accompagnement nécessaires.
Instructions were also issued to extend condolences and provide the necessary support to the families of the victims, in addition to mandating the Directorate of Human Resources to grant the administrative benefits предусмотрed in the special statute governing employees of the General Directorate of National Security to those affected by this incident.
Des instructions ont également été données pour présenter les condoléances et assurer le soutien nécessaire aux familles des victimes, ainsi que pour charger la Direction des Ressources Humaines d’accorder les avantages administratifs prévus par le statut particulier des fonctionnaires de la Direction Générale de la Sûreté Nationale au profit des personnes touchées par cet accident.
The incident occurred during a professional mission aimed at managing and securing a sporting event, while medical follow-up of the injured officers continues in the concerned hospital facilities.
Cet accident est survenu dans le cadre d’une mission professionnelle visant à encadrer et sécuriser une manifestation sportive, tandis que le suivi médical des blessés se poursuit au sein des établissements hospitaliers concernés.
