The Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education and Sports has decided to postpone the dates of the local unified examinations and to reschedule continuous assessment tests at the primary and lower secondary education levels. This decision comes due to the overlap of these academic assessments with the final match of the Africa Cup of Nations.
In an official circular addressed to the directors of the Regional Academies of Education and Training, the ministry explained that the two local unified examinations will now be held on January 20 and 21, 2026, instead of the previously scheduled January 19 and 20. Continuous assessment tests linked to these exams will also be rescheduled accordingly.
The ministry stated that this decision aims to ensure that students sit for the local unified examinations and continuous assessments under normal educational conditions, positively reflecting on their academic performance. This is particularly important given that the scheduled assessment period during the remainder of the first semester of the 2025/2026 school year coincides with the AFCON final.
The ministry also took into account the wide interest this continental football event generates among students and their families, and its desire to allow them the opportunity to follow the final match and support the Moroccan national team.
In the same context, the Secretary-General of the ministry confirmed that the concerned educational services will later receive detailed guidelines, procedures, and scheduling related to the organization of the two local unified examinations and the continuous assessment tests, in order to ensure proper organization and coordination at both regional and local levels.
