Rabat – Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa presided, on Sunday in Rabat, over the annual Diplomatic Charity Dinner. The event was organized at the initiative of the Diplomatic Foundation, in partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Embassy, and under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him.
This solidarity gathering is a yearly occasion that brings together the foreign diplomatic corps accredited in Morocco and key actors in the field of charitable work. The dinner aims to support vulnerable groups by mobilizing financial resources for social projects overseen by specialized associations.
These projects focus on child protection, improving the conditions of rural women, strengthening girls’ capacities, and supporting youth, reflecting the strong humanitarian dimension that has characterized this initiative since its inception.
The event was attended by diplomats, business leaders, and artists, who emphasized the importance of integrating diplomatic action with humanitarian initiatives in the service of social solidarity.
The evening also featured the screening of a documentary film highlighting ten years of Princess Lalla Hasnaa’s effective presidency of this event, showcasing the level of mobilization achieved in support of this charitable initiative.
In a speech on the occasion, the Saudi Ambassador to Rabat, Sami bin Abdullah bin Othman Al-Saleh, praised Princess Lalla Hasnaa’s continued commitment and commended her support for various charitable and humanitarian initiatives. Speaking on behalf of the participants, he affirmed that organizing this event reflects the strength of bilateral relations between Morocco and Saudi Arabia, and embodies the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between the two countries, in line with the guidance of their respective leaderships.
For his part, Abdelati Habek, President of the Diplomatic Foundation, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Her Royal Highness for her ongoing patronage of the event, considering her presence a strong moral boost for humanitarian action.
At the conclusion of the gala, the organizers presented the 2026 Diplomatic Gala Shield to Princess Lalla Hasnaa. A commemorative photo was also taken with members of the Diplomatic Foundation’s committee. Her Royal Highness was received by several civilian officials, alongside the Saudi Ambassador and members of the diplomatic corps.
