Residents of Douar Bouhjar, in the Upper Taza area of Taza, are living in a worrying situation, as the neighborhood’s alleys have remained in complete darkness for more than a week. This comes amid the absence of any effective intervention to restore public lighting, despite contacts and complaints that residents say were addressed to the relevant authorities.
According to information received by Fes News, the outage of public lighting has exacerbated residents’ suffering, especially at night, due to concerns related to safety and mobility, in addition to a growing sense of insecurity within the neighborhood.
Those affected consider that the persistence of this situation reflects a slow response to simple and urgent demands related to a basic public service. They question the reasons behind the delay in technical intervention to repair the fault, especially since the problem—according to their statements—requires only limited measures to restore the operation of public streetlights.
In this context, residents are calling for urgent intervention by the competent authorities to address this malfunction and put an end to a daily ordeal that recurs whenever public lighting breaks down.
