Fes News Media has received a testimony from a citizen who reported that, on the night of January 6, 2026, he was subjected to physical assault, threats with a bladed weapon, and unlawful detention, followed by the theft of his belongings, both inside and outside his residence in the Al Massira neighborhood of Fes. He described the circumstances as “serious.”
According to the testimony, the incident stemmed from a dispute related to the rent of a furnished apartment. The complainant stated that he received a demand to pay the January rent, noting that he customarily pays at the beginning of each month and had already provided a security deposit in advance. He explained that he requested a short grace period to verify the payment status, but—according to his account—this was followed by escalating tension and an attempted forced entry into the apartment.
The same source alleged that the apartment door was forcibly broken, and that he was threatened with a bladed weapon and physically assaulted by two individuals he identified as the apartment owner and her husband. He further claimed that he was forcibly expelled from the residence, compelled to enter a vehicle, and taken to another location, where his mobile phone, laptop, and certain personal belongings were taken.
The complainant stated that he later managed to reach a police station, where his statement was taken and he was directed to the competent services. In this context, information available to Fes News indicates that security services have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances and details of the incident and to take the necessary legal steps based on the findings of the inquiry.
In his testimony, the individual said that some security officers treated his case seriously and provided support and guidance, praising what he described as their professional and humane conduct.
He added that he is still awaiting the recovery of all his belongings and called for a thorough investigation to establish the facts and prevent any recurrence. He emphasized that he does not question the competence of the security services, but rather seeks clarification of responsibilities in accordance with the law.
