Snowfall Covers Streets and Squares of Oujda After Years of Absence (Video)

Oujda – The city of Oujda witnessed significant snowfall on Tuesday evening, covering various streets and public squares in a rare scene that the capital of Morocco’s Eastern Region has not experienced for years.

Snow began falling in the early evening hours, blanketing several neighborhoods in white and creating a distinctive atmosphere. Residents flocked to public spaces to enjoy the unusual sight and document it through photos and video clips.

These snowfalls come amid a cold wave affecting the Eastern Region, which the General Directorate of Meteorology had warned about in its recent bulletins. The agency pointed to the passage of cold air masses that caused a noticeable drop in temperatures, accompanied by rainfall and snowfall in several parts of the region.

In various statements, a number of citizens who gathered in the city’s streets expressed their admiration for this natural phenomenon, considering it an aesthetic spectacle that the city has missed for years, in addition to its anticipated positive impact on groundwater reserves and the agricultural season in the area.

Observers expect that these snowfalls will contribute to improving water and agricultural indicators in the Eastern Region, pending the continuation of the current weather conditions over the coming days.
