Morocco Makes Security History with Africa’s First-of-Its-Kind Integrated Command Center

Fes News | December 26, 2025

In a strategic move that solidifies the Kingdom’s leadership on both continental and international stages, Morocco has officially inaugurated the “African Police Cooperation Center” (APCC). Specialized in securing major sporting events, this center is far more than a technical upgrade; it is the “Central Nervous System” and the strategic brain that positions Morocco as a global security benchmark for crowd management and event safety, coinciding with the hosting of AFCON 2025 and preparations for World Cup 2030.

Next-Gen Technology: The Kingdom’s Watchful Eye

The center is distinguished by its reliance on cutting-edge technology. It is linked to a vast network of thousands of high-definition cameras, monitoring stadiums, their perimeters, and vital zones in real-time. This advanced ecosystem provides security officials with proactive monitoring capabilities, ensuring the seamless flow of fans under professional conditions that rival the world’s major capitals.

Security Diplomacy: Continental Coordination & Global Partnerships

The center transcends local boundaries to serve as a platform for continental cooperation. It hosts Liaison Officers from every African nation participating in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The objective is to track the safety of fans arriving from across the continent and ensure direct, rapid communication with their respective delegations.

On an international level, this center is the fruit of close collaboration with Interpol’s Project Stadia. It operates in high coordination with strategic partners in Qatar (leveraging their 2022 World Cup expertise), Spain, and Portugal. This international integration bolsters the Kingdom’s readiness to implement the highest global security standards.
