Security sources said officers from the Agadir Prefectural Judicial Police, working in coordination with the Directorate General for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested a 37-year-old man on Friday, December 26, on suspicion of involvement in activities related to offering and selling AFCON 2025 match tickets outside the authorized procedures.
According to the same sources, the National Security’s digital monitoring units had detected social media posts advertising the illegal sale of tournament tickets. Technical investigations and field inquiries reportedly led to identifying the suspect and arresting him near a major shopping complex in Agadir.
The sources added that a search and seizure operation resulted in the confiscation of a number of tickets for matches scheduled in the tournament, as well as a sum of money suspected to be proceeds from the alleged activity.
The suspect was placed under a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office to determine the circumstances of the case and establish the acts attributed to him, with the procedure continuing under legal safeguards and the presumption of innocence.
