Following Royal Instructions, “Cold Weather Relief” Operation Extends to Villages and Mountain Areas of the Fes–Meknes Region to Support Vulnerable Populations

The “Cold Weather Relief” operation continued on Monday across the Fes–Meknes region, under the supervision of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, as part of efforts to support populations affected by the sharp drop in temperatures. The initiative is being carried out in implementation of the Royal High Instructions aimed at assisting vulnerable groups facing harsh climatic conditions.

According to available data, approximately 4,952 families across the region have benefited from the operation, which covered several provinces within Fes–Meknes.

In El Hajeb Province, aid was distributed to 594 families from five territorial communes spread across 19 douars. Meanwhile, in Taounate Province, around 920 families in the commune of Oudka, covering two douars, benefited from the initiative, according to local figures.

The operation extended to Taza Province, where 941 families across three territorial communes and 30 douars received assistance. In Boulemane Province, support reached approximately 1,397 families within five territorial communes and 19 douars, based on consistent local sources.

Distribution activities began, according to the same sources, at designated points including El Hajeb (Ait Naaman and Tamchacht), Taza (Bouiblane, Maghraoua, and Tzarine), and Taounate (Oudka), while mobilization efforts continue in other provinces of the region.

The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity deployed field teams to ensure the smooth execution of the operation, with the participation of staff from the Directorate General of Social Services of the Royal Armed Forces, as part of logistical and human arrangements aimed at facilitating the delivery of aid to targeted douars, according to local stakeholders.

In a related statement, Sanaa Dardikh, Director of Communication at the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, announced that the provisional national total of beneficiaries has reached 56,920 families across 1,316 douars, belonging to 110 territorial communes in 21 provinces, according to the Foundation’s data.

The initiative is part of a broader program carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, covering 28 provinces experiencing significant temperature drops, and targeting nearly 73,000 families nationwide, according to official figures.
