Sefrou – The Dayet Aoua region, located within the Sefrou Province, witnessed the beginning of light to moderate snowfall on the evening of Sunday, November 30, 2025, transforming the natural landscape into a charming, picturesque scene in the heart of the Middle Atlas mountains. This weather event has impressed local residents and visitors alike, who flocked to enjoy the early winter atmosphere, amidst warnings from the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) regarding the continuation of unstable weather conditions.

According to a weather alert issued by the DGM on November 29, 2025, significant snowfall is expected in several provinces, including Sefrou, with snow accumulation reaching between 10 and 15 centimeters starting from an altitude of 1,700 meters, during the period from Sunday afternoon to Monday evening. These volatile weather conditions also include strong rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in some areas, necessitating caution from drivers and hikers in the mountainous regions.

Dayet Aoua, situated in the heart of the Middle Atlas, is a famous tourist destination known for its natural lake and breathtaking scenery, where the snow becomes an additional attraction during the winter season. Local eyewitnesses reported that the first snowfalls began at sunset, covering the ground with a thin white layer, enhancing the area’s natural beauty and evoking its authentic mountain heritage. This snowfall comes amid a general cold snap across the Kingdom, where the Directorate has announced an Orange Alert covering several provinces, including Ifrane, Boulemane, Beni Mellal, Khénifra, Midelt, Ouarzazate, and Tinghir, with forecasts of more intense snowfall in higher elevations. These weather conditions are expected to continue until Monday evening, requiring vigilance from everyone to ensure public safety.
