Rabat – November 12, 2025 (MAP) – The General Directorate of Meteorology issued an orange alert-level warning bulletin, cautioning against locally strong wind gusts accompanied by sandstorms, and thunderstorms with stormy winds, starting today Wednesday, November 12, and tomorrow Thursday, November 13, 2025, in several provinces and prefectures of the Kingdom.
Strong Wind Gusts and Sandstorms in the East and Center
The Directorate indicated that locally strong wind gusts with sandstorms at speeds ranging between 70 and 90 km/h will affect the provinces and prefectures of Boulemane, Guercif, Taourirt, Jerada, Figuig, Oujda-Angad, Berkane, Nador, Midelt, and Sefrou, starting from three o’clock this Wednesday afternoon until eleven o’clock at night tomorrow Thursday.
Other areas will also experience strong wind gusts with sandstorms at speeds of 70 to 85 km/h, affecting the provinces and prefectures of Rehamna, El Jadida, Safi, Sidi Bennour, Youssoufia, Chichaoua, Essaouira, Mohammedia, Marrakech, Casablanca, Mediouna, Nouaceur, Rabat, Salé, Temara-Skhirat, Benslimane, Berrechid, Settat, Khouribga, and Khemisset, tomorrow Thursday from six o’clock in the morning until eleven o’clock at night.
Thunderstorms in the Southwest
The Directorate expects thunderstorms accompanied by local stormy winds with amounts ranging between 25 and 50 mm in the provinces and prefectures of Taroudant, Agadir Ida-Outanane, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, and Essaouira, starting from nine o’clock this Wednesday evening until nine o’clock tomorrow Thursday evening.
The General Directorate of Meteorology calls on citizens and local authorities to exercise caution and vigilance, especially in the affected areas, to avoid the risks of sandstorms, strong winds, and thunderstorms, while following official weather updates.
