“In light of Washington’s recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara, the U.S. government is calling for increased investments in the southern provinces.”

New York – The United States has announced its intention to encourage American investments in Morocco’s southern provinces, as part of its recognition of the Kingdom’s sovereignty over the Sahara.

U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, Christopher Landau, affirmed that Washington supports American companies interested in investing in the region, as part of the U.S. administration’s initiatives to strengthen economic and commercial diplomacy.

This statement came following a meeting held on Wednesday in New York between Landau and Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita. Landau stated that the United States is ready to work with Morocco to promote prosperity, peace, and stability in the region, highlighting the deep and exceptional historical ties between the two countries.
