Morocco’s Security Chief Hammouchi Visits UAE to Bolster Counterterrorism and Security Cooperation.

Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of Morocco’s National Security (DGSN) and Domestic Intelligence (DGST), began a working visit to the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday, September 23, accompanied by a high-level security delegation. The visit aims to strengthen the strategic security partnership and enhance bilateral cooperation in various policing and security fields.

According to a statement from Morocco’s DGST, Hammouchi met with the UAE’s State Security Director, Talal Rashid Al-Zaabi, along with senior Emirati security officials. The meeting featured bilateral discussions on key issues of shared concern.

Talks focused on current international and regional security challenges, particularly the threats of terrorism and extremism in conflict zones worldwide, with a spotlight on the Sahel region in sub-Saharan Africa.

The session also reviewed ways to deepen operational cooperation between Morocco and the UAE against terrorism and cross-border organized crime. Both sides emphasized activating joint operational mechanisms proven effective in international security cooperation, while expanding bilateral coordination, intelligence sharing, and exchange of expertise across all security domains.

The two delegations underscored their shared commitment to proactive and firm responses against hostile threats endangering the security of both nations.
