On Monday, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation held an official ceremony at the Integration Hall of the Mohammed VI Football Complex to honor the players and members of the technical, administrative, and medical staff of the local national team following their victory in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which concluded last week in Nairobi, Kenya.
During the ceremony, the Federation’s president, Fouzi Lekjaa, conveyed a congratulatory message from King Mohammed VI to the champions of the local national team, emphasizing the King’s great pride in their sporting achievements. In his remarks, Lekjaa praised the tremendous efforts exerted by the players and all members of the technical, medical, and administrative teams throughout the continental competition, stressing that Morocco fully deserved the title thanks to the outstanding performance displayed by the team.
It is worth noting that the Moroccan local national team won the championship for the first time in 2018 on home soil, then confirmed its superiority by retaining the title in 2020 in Cameroon, before securing their third championship last Saturday with a 3-2 victory over Madagascar in the final held at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani, Nairobi.
This triumph further confirms the strength of Moroccan football and the solid base of local talent through which Morocco aims to enhance its position on the continental and international football stage.
