Rabat, Morocco – With profound sadness and sorrow, the Moroccan art community received news today, Wednesday, of the passing of the esteemed actress Naima Bouhmala. She was one of the most prominent figures who left a significant mark on the Moroccan artistic landscape, leaving behind a rich artistic legacy in theatre and television.
Actress Latifa Ahrrare, director of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Art and Cultural Animation, mourned the deceased artist in a poignant post on her Facebook page, stating: “May God have mercy on the great artist Naima Bouhmala… May God have mercy on you, dear one… My heartfelt condolences to your family and loved ones.”
Born in 1948, Naima Bouhmala was distinguished by her exceptional talent and unique voice. She was among the artists who consistently maintained a strong presence in the Moroccan theatrical scene. The late artist also participated in a large number of television works, which contributed to her growing popularity and made her beloved by a wide audience of Moroccans across generations.
